Orix Code of Conduct & Guidelines for Parents / Guardians and Spectators
-
Follow the Orix Golden Rule
Treat everyone—coaches, parents, officials, and players—the way you would want to be treated. Show respect, dignity, and sportsmanship at all times.
-
Remember It’s About the Kids
Youth soccer is for the children.
-
Be Responsible
Ensure your child arrives on time for practices and games, with their uniforms, shin guards, cleats, and water bottle.
-
Be Seen, Not Heard
Cheer for the players, but no negative comments please.
-
Keep It Fun
Help make the experience enjoyable for the kids. If the game isn’t fun, something is wrong, and your child may lose interest in the sport.
-
Build Confidence
Highlight something positive after each game or practice to boost your child’s confidence. A sense of achievement is a powerful motivator for young players.
-
Respect the Officials
Don’t question or argue with referees’ decisions. Let the coaches handle any concerns.
-
Keep Winning and Losing in Perspective
Teach your child to handle both victory and defeat gracefully.
-
Avoid Post-Game Critique
Resist the urge to analyze your child’s performance right after the game.
-
High Performance Soccer Is Merit Based
Please remember that your son has been chosen to participate in a High Performance Program, which does not necessarily include equal playing time for all participants.
-
Let The Coaches’ Perform Their Duties
Coaches are responsible for team decisions, including playing time and positions. Trust that they are making choices with the team’s best interests in mind. If you have concerns, discuss them privately with the coach, but do not interfere with their decisions.
-
Boundaries
All Parents/ Guardians and Spectators are reminded per league rules that they must watch the match from the opposite side of the field and away from the team bench area. Pleasebe respectful of the coaches work and refrain from interacting with the players, coaches and team during the warm up and halftime period.
By following these guidelines, you’ll help create a positive and supportive environment for all players, coaches, and families involved.
